10,000 people with one message.
How does it work?
1. The idea is you purchase a block to become part of the eventual 10,000 people who agree with the purpose of the site.
2. On that block you can have a photo and a message.
3. It costs a one time fee of $10 USD.
4. 50% of all profits go to the charities, proportional to the votes received from members.
5. You can change your image, message and details any time.
6. Just click the position you want to begin!

Why does this exist?
The philosophical reason:
Because it didn't before. I think we needed a page like this on the internet, one that is made up of 10,000 faces of the people of Earth. It says we are many, but we are one. Hopefully, it will make people think. Xenophobia, racism, Animal cruelty and disrespect, lack of care for the environment and third world poverty and dispair seems to be on the rise, hopefully this site can make a point about it and start an opposite trend. As Buckminster Fuller said, "We're all astronauts aboard a little spaceship called Earth." An alien looking at our species would consider our differences trivial compared to our similarities.* Humans need to realise this if we are to survive. The alternative can only be self destruction. So, each face represents a choice of respect for all earthlings, including non human ones.
The personal reason:
I just got the idea and couldn't help but make it a reality. I'm just one guy who got an idea for a good use of the pixel sale system, instead of ugly ads and blatant profiteering. This one will be a collection of people from our planet. No borders. No discrimination. Just how our planet SHOULD be.
I've always frowned at the 'mob-mentality' thing, but now here's a way to use that to do good, and I get a kick out of making ideas a reality.
Why should I buy a place?
This is the original Faces of Planet Earth web page.
There are only 10,000 blocks available. This represents 0.00016% of the planet's population.
If you feel you want to be part of something that represents humanity on planet Earth, then get your spot before they run out.
Once they are all sold, that will be it. The image will be complete forever. It is important that this becomes a piece of Internet history. A statement for the future.
It's a form of immortality.
It's more than just 15 minutes of fame!
You can say you're 'on the Faces of Planet Earth page'.
Not everyone will be able to get on.
And most importantly, you simply agree with the philosophy of this site.
How long will this page exist?
If possible, As long as the internet, in whatever form it will evolve to be, exists. Guaranteed 10 years.
Can I reserve a place?
Yes, just buy your spot, without uploading an image, then your place will show the 'R' reserved icon. You can then come back and upload your image at any time within the next 3 months. If after 3 months you still haven't uploaded your photo, we will consider you unable to participate, and your account will be removed and the spot will be come available again. There will be no refund if this occurs.
Can I move to another block?
Yes, just contact us and request to be moved.
Can I change my photo any time?
Yes. Just login using the username and password you entered when buying and you can edit your photo and comment, as well as your email address and password. Be aware that when you change your image or comment, then your block goes into reserved mode until an admin approves tour entry.
What are the photo rules?
We would like the photos to be of your face, or at least have your face or part thereof somewhere in the photo. This site is about 10,000 people standing up for an ideology, kind of like a permanent petition, but where you identify yourself with a photo instead of a signature. However, we're not too strict on that, for example if your reason for joining is to show support for one of the animal protection groups, then you might like to put up a face of an animal, maybe one of your animal companions. We will not approve any unsuitable or potentially offensive photos. This is a family 'G' rated web site and the content must be in line with that.
Is this the one I saw on the news?
Yes. This is the first, the original. This is the one to be on. It's my idea for my reasons. From that perspective, copies - if any exist - are pointless.
What happens to the money?
When all places have been filled, 50% of all profits will be donated to the charities. The percentage that each charity gets is determined by members votes.
- paypal will take it's cut
- The bank will dip their hand with fees
- Hosting fees
- Domain renewal
The rest will go towards to cost of keeping this up and help me to continue to use this site to support groups listed below. Hopefully it will buy me time to do this.
